  11. hi mrsj my homework on the American dream and a hyperlink to the bbcbitsize website below. http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/
Arthur Miller was born in 1915 in New York. His Jewish parents were both immigrants from Poland. They came to America at a time when people were looking for the economic and religious freedom of 'the American dream'.

  12. hi mrsj, this is my homework.
The American Dream, sometimes in the phrase "Chasing the American Dream," is a national ethos of the United States in which freedom includes a promise of the possibility of prosperity and success. In the American Dream, first expressed by James Truslow Adams in 1931, "life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement"

  13. Thank Kieran and Adam (which Adam?!) - glad you have set the American dream homework ball rolling! It will all become clear when we read more of the novel, where all of this fits in! Kieran - Arthur Miller was a famous author who was very interested in the American dream - he wrote the play Death of a salesman. John Steinbeck wrote Of Mice and Men. Mrs J x

  14. Hi miss its kyle heres my capitalism homework and the american dream, Hope you like :)
CAPITALISM : Capitalism is an economic system in which the means of production are privately owned and operated for a private profit; decisions regarding supply, demand, price, distribution, and investments are made by private actors in the free market; profit is distributed to owners who invest in businesses, and wages are paid to workers employed by businesses and companies.

    AMERICAN DREAM :
The American Dream, sometimes in the phrase "Chasing the American Dream," is a national ethos of the United States in which freedom includes a promise of the possibility of prosperity and success. In the American Dream, first expressed by James Truslow Adams in 1931, "life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement" regardless of social class or circumstances of birth.[1] The idea of the American Dream is rooted in the second sentence of the United States Declaration of Independence which proclaims that "all men are created equal" and that they are "endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights" including "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."[2]

  23. Hey miss :)

The animals where fed up of being treated badly by the humans, so they rebelled back to them.

"nepoleon made the hens sell their eggs to purchse some food for the other animals, but the hens rebelled against and they lay their eggs on the rafters so that the eggs will smash on the floor of the barn."

Thinks makes the reader think or feel that Nepoleon has charge over the other animals and that he wants the other animals to work hard and to suffer.

The word suffer means that someone is pussing you to far and your in pain, or your giving up something you dont want to loose.

PEEL point on Rebellion MrsJ hope its ok Jess Eagle :) x

  24. hi mrs j this is my homework

The quote I am going to use is the seven commandments.

The point of the seven commandments is so the animals feel like they are all going to be treated equally, now the animals have taken over. However, the pigs came up with commandments – which are life orders, without talking to the other animals, so maybe this is the first clue that they have plans to take over Animal Farm themselves; like dictators?

The seven commandments are listed below:

"1. Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.
    2. Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend.
    3. No animal shall wear clothes.
    4. No animal shall sleep in a bed.
    5. No animal shall drink alcohol.
    6. No animal shall kill any other animal.
    7. All animals are equal." (Page 15)

This marks the start of the rebellion for the animals, but especially for the pigs. The way the pigs made up the commandments on their own, makes it seem more likely that they may want to become dictators. Also the pigs learnt to read and write very early on and seem more intelligent than the other animals, who accept the seven commandments as something much better than life under Jones, because they’ll all be working together and treated the same. They think that the seven commandments will make their life better.

The language of the seven commandments is very short sentences, this is because the other animals are not very bright and need short commands that are easy to follow, so that every animal would understand them. The way the commandments are written is very clever because it gets all the animals working together; the pigs tell the other animals only about the good things that should happen if they follow the commandments. However, the language hints at the pigs maybe planning something bad, because the commandments are just like orders, even though all the animals should be treated the same!

In the end these worries about the pigs are right, because the pigs slowly brake and eventually change the commandments to read, "all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others."

  25. Hello you lot! Sorry to be off today and I know those of you who I can trust to not waste these two hours!!! We don't want to slip behind the other classes remember! You have got to continue working through the spoken language unit... Lol will you go on the hunt for the texts books please ma darlin'? Try Mr Colebrook. You should be on the forth second now if I remember right? If you want to finish looking at the old lady stuff you can!!!
You have to have a section done per lesson ma darlin's... It's not really up for discussion- so get on and make me proud, like I know you can!!!
Those of you who do make me proud and keep yourselves on track, can get your phones out- don't take advantage of this, because your cover teacher WILL check your work before you can do this- you may get your phones out and either transcribe your spotaneous discussions from the previous lesson. You can also record more if you feel like TALKING! Remember (.) // //
Be good and those of you without your last homework- don't think I've forgotten that detention you owed me! I don't want to add others but I will if you don't behave or do the work! If two sections are not done, you will do them in your own time! Be warned!
More extension work my stars??? Try and write part of this blog post out as I would say it!!!
    Enjoy, Mrs J x
